Student Maid

Student Maid is an active participant in the Buy Local campaign. We believe that ‘Buying Local’ has a positive chain reaction effect in our community. Our company’s roots are in Gainesville and we truly believe in promoting local business within a community that actively supports us.

Buying Local begins with utilizing local resources for our own company. We take advantage of local vendors for our t-shirts, signs, business cards, cleaning supplies, and even our payroll services. When we moved into a new office this fall, we contracted a local construction business for all the renovations. We proudly support local business by using it for our everyday operations, in every way possible.

Beyond using local options ourselves, we actively promote local businesses to the residents living in Gainesville. As a young business, we truly understand the value of endorsing these businesses and believe it strengthens the economic environment for our entire community.

The Student Maid management team belongs to several different networking groups within the Gainesville community, and they make it a priority to form professional connections with local business owners. Because of these connections, Student Maid can easily and frequently refer clients and employees to these local businesses. We feature local businesses in our monthly newsletters in order to further promote the Buy Local concept.

Growing local businesses allows for more local job creation. This summer alone, Student Maid employed over 300 high school and college students. As a community, we need to foster entrepreneurship and promote Innovation Gainesville in order to create more jobs in our community. We need to make Gainesville a hub for innovation and startup companies.

To show our appreciation for the Gainesville community and the Buy Local campaign, we choose to give back through local donations and volunteerism. In the last two years we have donated $100,000 in services to nonprofits and our employees have collectively volunteered 4,000 hours of community service.

We believe that by integrating every component of the Buy Local campaign into our business model, we are making a consistent effort to benefit all Gainesville residents and businesses.

What are you waiting for? Buy Local!
